Joseph Lam has commissioned World Children’s Fund-HK to launch a special project with Beijing Children’s Welfare Institute — the largest children’s home of its kind in China with 1,200 registered handicapped or abandoned children.

World Children’s Fund-HK, in partnership with other agencies in Northeast Afghanistan, is currently helping to provide food to more than 65,000 people in 78 villages in the districts of Chah Ab and Rustaq in Takhar province.

World Children’s Fund-HK is sponsoring the Phuket Child Care Center at Patong Beach to help rescue slum children at risk in Phuket, Thailand. The children helped there are in serious danger of exploitation through sexual abuse, pedophilia and street crime.

World Children’s Fund-HK is expanding its efforts to help rescue girl babies in China from neglect and abuse. As a result of the draconian ‘one child policy,’ there is a growing crisis in the care and protection of girls in many parts of mainland China.
